Who are they?

About

The interbranch organisation of the Spanish dairy sector (cow, sheep and goat milk), founded in 1997. Its producer branch is ASAJA, COAG, UPA and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias; its processing branch FENIL and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias. It funds promotion of milk and dairy products (e.g. 'Lácteos de origen español'), sector data and R&D projects, and has committees for cow, sheep and goat milk.

Who is it for?

Is it mandatory?Mandatory levy, no membership

Members are associations; a farmer does not join directly. The extension under Orden APA/1225/2022 (2 Jan 2023 – 31 Dec 2026) binds all operators: the production levy is paid by every dairy farm selling raw cow, sheep or goat milk. It also applies to milk sold directly to consumers and to dairy products made and sold on the farm.

Legal basisLey 38/1994, de 30 de diciembre, art. 8–9 + Orden APA/1225/2022, de 1 de diciembre (kiterjesztés 2023.01.02–2026.12.31)

What does it cost?

Membership fee

Production levy: €0.000175 per litre (i.e. €0.175 per 1,000 litres), unchanged 2023–2026; processors pay the same. The first buyer deducts it on the milk invoice and pays it; for direct sales the farmer pays INLAC directly once a year. The extension expires on 31 Dec 2026; a new one was not yet on the MAPA list in October 2026.

Fee basis: area/volume-based
