Interbranch organisation · Spain · national
Mandatory levy, no membership
The interbranch organisation of the Spanish sheep and goat meat sector. Its producer branch is made up of ASAJA, COAG, UPA, Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias and OVICEBO (finishers); its processing and marketing branch of meat industry, exporter, leather and butcher associations. It funds lamb and kid meat promotion (e.g. 'Paquito de cordero'), EU promotion campaigns, market studies and research (Ovinnova, Previnova operational groups).
Members are associations; a farmer does not join directly. The extension under Orden APA/1278/2025 (1 Dec 2025 – 30 Nov 2030) binds all operators: a producer contribution is due for every sheep and goat reared in Spain and handed over for marketing – whether to a slaughterhouse, an exporter, a dealer or a feedlot. The slaughterhouse or exporter deducts it on the invoice.
Producer contribution: €0.08 per head (1 Dec 2025 – 30 Nov 2028), then €0.09 (1 Dec 2028 – 30 Nov 2030). The marketing branch pays the same per carcass. The slaughterhouse/exporter pays it to INTEROVIC quarterly (collection is managed by Tragsa).
